Introduction
With the development of GIDC Ankleshwar during the 1970s and 1980s, there arose a significant need for quality healthcare services for industrial employees, workers, and their families. At that time, there was no government hospital in the area to adequately meet the growing healthcare needs of the community.
With initial donations and community support, a 25-bedded hospital was established in the GIDC housing quarters. Over the years, the institution expanded steadily and evolved into a full-fledged hospital. In 1996, the new hospital building was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Gujarat. Since then, the hospital has continued to grow and today operates as a 120-bedded multispeciality hospital, recognized as one of the most modern healthcare institutions in the region.
The Mody Family and the Unique Group of Companies have made significant contributions toward the development of the hospital, with continued support from industries across Ankleshwar, Panoli, and Valia. The hospital is named in memory of Late Smt. Jayaben Mody, mother of Shri J. B. Mody, Shri D. B. Mody, and Shri S. B. Mody, and is known today as Smt. Jayaben Mody Multispeciality Hospital.
As a charitable healthcare institution, the hospital is committed to providing affordable and accessible medical care. Treatment costs are significantly lower than prevailing market rates in Ankleshwar and Bharuch. In addition, many underprivileged patients receive free or subsidized treatment through medical camps and the Poor Patient Fund established by the Mody Family.

Cancer Radiation Centre
In Bharuch District there is no facility to treat cancer patients. Patients have to go to Vadodara, Surat or to Ahmedabad for their treatment of surgery and radiation. Considering this need Smt. Jayaben Mody Multispeciality Hospital has started OPD, Operation and Chemo Therapy for Onco patients since last four years, However since there no radiation facility patients have to go the Vadodara, Surat and or to Ahmedabad which increase the hardship to a great extent and hence this project.
Cost of the project is Rs.26 crores. Major cost is for Radiation machine which comes to Rs. 12.2 crores and 3.3 crores duty/GST. Balance is for Bunker to be provided and other facilities. We are importing machines from Varian USA-Vital Beam with all attachments which can treat 97% of the patients.
Funds
Recently, we received donations totaling ₹3.5 crore from various industries, including JBCPL, Gujarat Guardian Limited, HEAUBECH, and Sajjan India.
We are pleased to inform you that the family of Late Shri J. B. Mody, along with Shri Bharat Mehta and Smt. Pallavi Mehta, generously donated ₹3 crore towards the installation of a PET-CT Machine in memory of Late Shri J. B. Mody. The PET-CT Machine was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and Hon’ble Finance Minister Shri Kanubhai Desai.
Project Status
Construction work for the Chemotherapy Ward on the first floor of the Radiation Therapy Centre and a new residential building for doctors has already commenced. The PET-CT Machine has been installed and was expected to begin serving patients from mid-September 2023.
With God’s grace and continued support, we aim to begin the construction of a patient dormitory facility before the end of 2023.

Cheque for the donation to be issued in the name of ANKLESHWAR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY A/c Smt. Jayaben Mody Multispeciality Hospital. We are also enclosing herewith bank details of Yes Bank for making the payment through RTGS.
Needless to mention that donation given to the hospital is eligible under CSR contribution and /or donations are eligible under the Section 80G(5) of the Income Tax Act for income tax benefit.
