ABOUT CANCER CARE CARE

About J.B. Mody Cancer Centre

The NCRP (National cancer registry programme) report 2021 stated that in Gujarat 58% of head and neck cancers, 50% of stomach cancers (men) and 60% of cervical cancers have already spread outside the primary tissue when the patient came to a medical facility for the first diagnosis.

The NCRP (National cancer registry programme) report 2021 stated that in Gujarat 58% of head and neck cancers, 50% of stomach cancers (men) and 60% of cervical cancers have already spread outside the primary tissue when the patient came to a medical facility for the first diagnosis.

Due to the absence of cancer-treating medical infrastructure in the district, Patients from Bharuch had to move to Vadodara, Surat or Ahmedabad for their therapy and surgeries.

Considering this need Smt. Jayaben Mody Multispeciality Hospital had started OPD, Operation and Chemo Therapy for Onco patients for the last four years, However, since there was no radiation facility and hence after putting gigantic efforts, we successfully established our radiation centre at the cost of Rs.26 crores.

The imported machines from Varian USA-Vital Beam with all attachments which can treat 97% of the patients, cost 12.2 crores and 3.3 crores duty/GST.

With our technically advanced radiation centre, which has the latest infrastructure, we are able to provide diagnosis and treatment of medical complications ranging from chronic to acute.

Radiotherapy, also known as radiation therapy, is a type of treatment that uses radiation to treat cancer and other diseases. Radiation Therapy damages cancer cell DNA. Once this occurs, the cancer cells are unable to grow and spread. The body naturally eliminates these damaged cancer cells. Radiation can affect normal cells as well, however, they are able to heal themselves in a way that cancerous cells cannot. To give a maximum dose to the tumour and to give a minimal dose to surrounding normal tissues, radiotherapy is the main aim.

We have received donation funds of 10.76 crores from various industries that aid in philanthropy and care for betterment in the processes of cancer curing. Again, The baton for this noble cause is held by Shri J B Mody Family, Shri B P Mehta and Pallaviben Mehta as they have donated Rs.10.00 crores in memory of Late Shri J B Mody

Description

High-definition dynamic radiosurgery (HDRS)

Dynamic radiosurgery with software module to treat very small tumours without affecting normal organs

Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)

Frameless non-invasive radiosurgery of head region capable of achieving high positional accuracy.

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)

High dose per sitting radiotherapy of body region capable of achieving high positional accuracy.

Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT)

Faster delivery of highly shaped beams without interrupting machine rotation

Image-Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT)

Daily imaging during radiation therapy to improve accuracy & precision

Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT)

Highly shaped beams to deliver radiation therapy with sparing of normal organs

Active Breathing Coordinator (ABC)

Breathing coordinator for chest & upper abdomen tumours to reduces dose to normal organs

Flattening Filter Free (FFF) beams

Delivers radiotherapy in 4-5 fold increase in dose rate, thereby reduces treatment time

Hexapod Evo RT system

Robotic patient positioning platform providing six degrees of freedom and accuracy

4D CBCT& intrafraction imaging

Real-time imaging during the treatment delivery to detect tumour motion in lung & upper abdomen tumours.

Advanced Radiotherapy Services

3D Conformal Radiotherapy (3DCRT)

Delivers radiation at suitable angles according to the size and shape of the tumour.

Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT)

Software-based planning and delivery of tightly focused radiation beams to tumours.

Image-Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT)

CT scan before treatment using cone-beam CT scanner attached to the linear accelerator.

volumetric-modulated

Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT)

Arc-based approach to delivering IMRT with greater precision and efficiency.

stereotactic

Stereotactic Radiosurgery & Radiotherapy (SRS / SRT)

High precision, high dose radiation using 3D coordinate system for exact localization.

stereotactic-body

Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT)

High-dose radiation in fewer sessions for tumours in body with motion management.

total

Total Body Irradiation (TBI)

Radiation is given to the whole body as part of Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) conditioning. Challenging but essential to uniformly and safely treat organs like the lungs.
